Mommy Day and a MAJOR award

Hey, friends!
Today was a TOTAL mom day. Ok.  Maybe I just mean it was a MONDAY.  haha!
Let me clarify.
Every day is a mom day for me{which I love}, but some days it just seems like all you do is go from one thing to the next with no break in between.  Make sense?   I usually sneak in a project here and there, or something that I, personally, like to do besides cater to four HUNGRY, hyper, needy children!  LOL!
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE  staying home with my kids and wouldn't have it any other way.  :-)

{Really, they ARE sweet.  When they're fed.}

Truthfully, I'm very  blessed!  My {older} daughters totally help me out and lighten the load for me.  I have delegated laundry, vacuuming, lawn mowing, chicken/duck care{heehee} to my girls, and although I'm a total control freak, my life runs so much more smoothly when I let them help. :-)

But it's not easy for me to do.

Today, lots of laundry was done, meals were prepared,  I cleaned out the vacuum, vacuumed the whole house{it's small, so it doesn't take long...YAY!},  intervened to several near disasters{not really}, broke up some wrestling matches{really}, and was drill sargeant to some urchins my children who seem to think our yard is their dumping spot for empty cracker boxes and other various items....REALLY?????
*sigh*
I guess I'll keep repeating myself. :-)

GO PICK THAT UP!!!!!! {or else you'll be grounded for a YEAR}!!!

Well, the chicken coop project  is well under way and I have several photos to share with you, but first I need to get them off of my camera.  You see, I got all giddy one day with the progress my husband was making, so I grabbed the camera ans started snapping away.
Only problem?  The SD card wasn't IN IT!  Total bummer.
AND...I cannot find the cord to transfer them.  Anyone out there know how I can get them off{maybe transfer TO the SD card or something???}
Ugh.
Anyway, I really want to post the progress IN ORDER, so I'll have to figure that out and somehow get those pictures!

*on temporary hiatus due to operator error*

While you're waiting for me to get myself together, here are some shots of the boys 'building' with their dad today.

Henry and his stool that he built{mostly}!  He was VERY proud!

Here is Jack avoiding the camera having a good 'ol time!
He built a stool, too, but wouldn't stand still long enough for me to get a pic.

Do you see the progress on the coop?!?!  YAY!  We are buying paint tomorrow and finishing the back wall.
Then....SHEATHING!

      1. sheath·ing
        noun /ˈSHēT͟HiNG/
        sheathings, plural
        1. Protective casing or covering
          • Sheets of rigid material (often plywood) attached to the framework of a building to strengthen it and to underlie siding or roofing

Sorry, I always thought it was SHEETING...as in sheets of wood, but no. It's sheathing.
      Lesson learned.

      Guess what else happened today?
We were the recipients of a MAJOR award.

      Remember this movie?
Alright, so it's not a leg lamp, but it did come in a box that looks like this...

      ....and it was 'FRA-GEEEE-LAY'.
What a great surprise it was!
I'll show you some pictures of our prize very soon. :-)
I hope you had a wonderful day!

      Blessings,
      xoxoxo

      Junkin'

      Whoa!  Today was hot one!
      The kids headed outside and in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
...they were back in with pink cheeks and sweaty heads! :-)

Not too long ago, we did some treasure hunting as a family for the chicken coop project that we have started.
Our goal is to build a coop that is fantastic...on a budget!
      Our inspiration...SO CUTE!!!

      Our progress...

Slow, but sure!  We have lots of ideas just ready to come to fruition!

Anyway, on one of our recent trips to find 'loot' to turn into something fantastic for our project, we found a whole lotta fun stuff!
Here's our fun journey to a little treasure trove of 'junk' we like to call, "Amish Walmart".
       lol
I'll let my daughter, Elly, take it away.
She asked to take pictures and that was FINE. WITH. ME.
      :-)

      Lots 'o lumber...salvaged, of course!

Here is where we got our roofing tin{for the coop}!

      YES!

      Happy Hunting!

      Picket fences..industrial carts...

      HAHA!  Ugly vanity!

LOVE THIS!  Can you imagine it cleaned up and as a coffee table of sorts?  So cool.
      {minus the contraption on top}

      Watch yer step!

      I heart cupolas.

Yummy character filled lumber from AGES ago. LOVE.

      I REALLY wanted this...to put plants in, etc...but couldn't justify it...yet.  lol

      Character!

      ***FAVORITE THING***
OLD OLD OLD beams from a barn.  Someday, I would love to use these in my house!  They have so much character!  LOVE the bark still on the beam.

Two of these warehouse baskets made their way home with me. :-)

Does anyone need a shopping cart?
      I look like 'Where's Waldo'?
      Can you spot me?

      Hundreds of awesome wheels!

You have NO idea how packed this baby is!

      Gate, anyone?

      I love this wagon'y' thing!

Note to self...watch out for nettles, poison ivy, or anything that will make your foot BURN like everything INSTANTLY!  Oops.

Now THESE could be repurposed into something AWESOME!

      Awesome color.

I was trying to find an excuse to buy this old barn vent and reuse it somewhere else, but I passed.

      E and her treasure.
      *NOTE*
There are two FULL buildings of 'stuff' inside that we didn't photograph!!!  YIKES!

      Happy hunters!

      "Now YOU take OUR picture!"

Thanks for hanging in there with me!
Loading up our treasures!  We had a successful day, coming out with a light{$3}, tin roofing{$40} and as you can see, some oddball pieces($15}. Not too shabby AND we had a great time doing it!
It's all about 'the hunt', ya know?

I will post more pictures of the light that we found for the coop AND windows!
Not sure how I forgot those. Oops!

What do you like doing together as a family?

      Blessings!
