she loves to knit

my daughter, elly grace, loves to knit.
she started about a year ago, making simple scarves and such, and has improved in her skill enough to make sweaters, pants and baby booties.
with the basics down pat, and the ability to read and understand patterns, the possibilities are endless.
she is constantly ordering and checking out books from the library, trying to learn more.
it's safe to say that i am very proud of her, and i am thankful for this gift that she has been given.
and in case you were wondering, i have NO idea how to knit.  :)

here are a few of her latest projects.

:::owl booties she sold:::

:::dainty cowl:::

i love you, elly.
and i pray that you will honor the Lord in whatever you do.
even in knitting.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Proverbs 31:13

did i mention that i'm a tad in denial that i have a teenager now?
a sweet, loving girl, who desperately wants to open an etsy shop to sell her creations.  oy.
hug those babies tight, mommas!  they grow up so fast.
you blink, and they are 13 going on 30.

thanks for letting me brag on my girl, for just a bit today, friends  ;)

  1. WOWZERS! Your sweet Elly Grace is super talented! And I love her name! So beautiful! My heart hurts thinking of my girls growing up.
    I was toying with the idea of teaching my girls to knit this year. But I'm not very good, so if they drop a stitch we might have a catastrophe!

  2. WOW is right! I LOVE the infinity cowl! my boss is trying to get me to start crochetting, but I don't know if I have the patience!

  3. oh my goodness ... elly is gorgeous! and so talented ... i have never seen lil' baby pants like that ... they are adorable! she's got some real talent there! kepp up the good work :)

  4. Such a beautiful and talented girl you have there! Wow.

  5. She's not only beautiful, but talented as well! Baby cardigans like that are spendy! We have an etsy shop (very small, we don't spend that much time on it), and I think it's a great place for people who want to sell their crafts and art. Everyone I've come in contact with through etsy has been very kind :)

your comments always brighten my day!
